Cristiano Ronaldo has squashed any retirement rumors and has revealed he will continue to play until his legs are done. The Portuguese said he still has a lot of fuel left in his tank and wants to continue playing at the top level.
The talisman admitted he is still enjoying the game and still wants to win every match he plays. Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr in the Saudi Pro League in the 2022-23 season after his controversial exit from Manchester United.
The linchpin scored 14 goals and provided two assists for Al-Nassr in the previous season. The veteran continued his good show in the ongoing season, scoring nine goals and providing four assists in the six matches he has played.
Ronaldo recently scored the 850th goal of his career for club and country and he is still hungry for more despite achieving almost all the records in the book. The 38-year-old scored a brace for Al-Nassr in their 4-3 win against Al-Ahli Saudi at KSU Football Field on Friday to continue his rich form.
“They say Ronaldo is done… but it’s not true,” said Ronaldo, according to the media report.
He further added: “I will continue to play until my legs say: Cristiano, I’m done’. I still have a lot. I still love football and scoring goals. I still love winning. They say I’m done but I’m still proving that it’s not true.”
Ronaldo is regarded as one of the greats of the game and has revealed he has no plans of moving back to Europe. The Portuguese also hinted that he will look to retire at Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr is currently in fifth place in the Saudi Pro League with five wins and two losses in seven matches. Al-Nassr will take on Ohod in the King Cup in the round of 32.
